Amelia Marie Propp, was born August 26, 1942 at the farm home of Arvid and Marie (Eldevik) Peterson in rural Clinton. Amelia was baptized and confirmed at Elim Lutheran Church in Clinton. She attended Clinton Public School. While attending High School she was active in 4-H, the school and church choirs. Following graduation from Clinton High School in 1960, she worked for several area families caring for children and at The Kitchen Restaurant.
On October 11, 1969 Amelia was united in marriage to Duane Propp at Elim Lutheran Church. To this union they were blessed with five children, Stephen, Bradley, LeAnne, Jennifer, and Jeffrey. They made their home together on a farm near Clinton where they raised their children and farmed.
Amelia was a life long member of Elim Lutheran Church and active in WMF and church quilting group. Amelia enjoyed her gift of music often singing solos during church service, weddings and funerals. She was also a member of the Elim Choir and participated in area Cantata groups. She was also a member of TOPS in Graceville for approximately 15 years. She was the current leader of the group. She enjoyed attending her T.O.P.S. meetings and spending time with her T.O.P.S. pals. She enjoyed going for coffee, visiting with friends. She was a very good baker and was known in the area for her angel food cakes. Amelia enjoyed spending time with her children, making trips to visit them in Minneapolis, MN and Moorhead, MN.
Amelia passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at her home in Clinton following five weeks of hospitalization at Merit Care in Fargo, N.D.
She is survived by her husband, Duane of Clinton, MN; four children, Bradley, LeAnne, Jennifer and Jeffrey.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Stephen; and brother, Roland Peterson.
