Amelia Grace Hughes was born to parents Jake and Beki (Henslin) Hughes on June 22, 2010 at the Ortonville Hospital. She was 8 lbs, 6 oz and 20 ½ inches long. Amelia was baptized on July 8, 2010 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD by Pastor Darrell Boe.
God blessed us with 17 days with Amelia and will cherish every second he allowed us to have her. In her short time with us, she was given so much love from so many people. She touched so many hearts. She liked to be held and cuddled. She would hold your finger with a strong grip and never let go. Her favorite thing was her orange pacifier.
God called Amelia home on July 9, 2010. God truly has a perfect angel with him now.
Amelia is survived by her parents Jake and Beki Hughes of Ortonville; brothers Jaydon and Jackson of Ortonville; maternal grandparents LaDon and Annette Henslin of Bird Island; paternal grandparents Ann and Doug Streed of Morris and Mark and Dawn Hughes of Ortonville; uncles: Allen (Leslie) Henslin, Jon (Toni) Hughes, and Mitch Hughes; cousin Bryce Henslin; maternal great-grandparents Doris Foesch of Bird Island and Lorraine and Edward Hemze of Olivia, MN; paternal great-grandparents Lorene Robertson of Ortonville, MN, Ernie and Arlene Streed of Milan, MN , Jackie Welberg of Ortonville, MN and Deanna Hughes of Oconto Falls, WI; and many great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
Amelia is preceded in death by her great-grandpas: John Henslin, Erwin Foesch, Walter “Bud” Robertson and Lloyd Hughes.
