Funeral Services for Amelia Anderson will be on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Watertown, SD. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. Pastor Gary Westgard will be officiating. Burial will be at the LaBolt Cemetery in LaBolt, SD.
Amelia Amanda Anderson died on March 7, 2011, at her home in Mesa, Arizona.
Amelia was born on July 21, 1917, near Revillo, South Dakota, to Albert and Ida (Olson) Seim. They lived in the Albee and LaBolt, South Dakota, area during her growing up years. Amelia married Donald Anderson in 1938. They were very active in Grace Lutheran Church in LaBolt. She was Sunday School superintendent for many years, was active in Ladies Aide and Mission, and was a choir member. Amelia worked in food service for 29 years beginning in the LaBolt Elementary School, then the retirement home in Gary, and the Watertown High School. She volunteered at the Watertown Senior Center for over 1300 hours earning a gold President's Volunteer Service Award.
Amelia is survived by her daughter Darlene Peterson of Mesa, Arizona, and son Gordon (Michele) Anderson of Whittier, California.
