Alvina Inderieden

September 27, 1912 — August 20, 2005

Alvina was born September 27, 1912 to Bernard and Bertha (Zitur) Inderieden in Melrose, MN. As an infant, the family moved to St. Cloud, MN where she grew up and attended school, graduating in 1930 from St. Cloud Tech. The family then moved to Ortonville, MN. Following graduation, Alvina first worked in the Ortonville Court House in the Register of Deeds office until 1942. After taking the Civil Service exam, she moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked for eight months. She then transferred to St. Paul, MN where she worked for the Internal Revenue Service for five years. In November of 1948, she transferred to the Farmer's Home Administration in Ortonville, MN where she remained until her retirement on December 31, 1974. Alvina continued to attend yearly reunions with all of her friend in FHA until her passing.



Alvina's greatest joy in life was in being a second mother to her many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand nephews whom she helped raise. She also cared for her mother, Bertha, for many years. Alvina was known for her wonderful oatmeal cookies and special "Niney's" fudge. She was a very devoted woman who was active in church as a Eucharistic minister and a member of the prayer group. Alvina was also a charter member of the VFW Womens Auxiliary. Her other pastimes included spending time socializing with friends and playing golf.



Alvina was preceded in death by her parents; Bernard and Bertha, and six brothers; Edmund, Carl, Sylvester, George, Ben, and Johnny.



She is survived by two sisters; Loretta Stern of Ortonville, MN and Helen Thomas of St. Paul, MN, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews all of whom dearly loved her. She is also survived by her special friends; Deloris Inderieden, Ethel Schoon, Greta Yaeger, and Ann Hedemark.
