Allen Theye

Allen F. Theye, age 73, resident of Milbank, SD, died on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Milbank Area Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Summit, SD. Pastor Justin Neugebauer will officiate, and burial will be at Osceola #2 Cemetery in Marvin. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 1, from 5-7 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Allen Frederick Theye was born on September 13, 1944, in Milbank, SD to Frederick and Alvina (Schmidt) Theye. He lived in the Twin Brooks and Summit area most of his life and was baptized at Summit Lutheran Church on June 15, 1958. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on August 31, 1965 and was honorably discharged on November 27, 1966. He married Marilyn Grabow on January 22, 1967 at Summit Lutheran Church.

Allen worked for many years on his farm. After retiring from his farm, he also worked for many years as on a bridge crew, detailed cars, worked for the railroad, Sleepy Hollow and F.O.K. When not working, he could be found watching NASCAR, mowing lawn or cleaning and detailing his red truck.

Allen is survived by his wife, Marilyn Theye of Milbank; children: Suzan (Kevin) Roggenbuck of Milbank, SD, and Gus Theye of Summit, SD; granddaughters: Nicole (Wylie) Pays of Summit, SD, and Jennifer (Michael) Brus of Summit, SD; two brothers: Richard Theye of Watertown, SD, and Darryl Theye of CA; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Alvina Theye; one brother and one nephew.
