Alfred Lausch

Funeral services for Alfred A. "Fritz" Lausch, age 84, of Milbank, will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank. The Reverend James L. Wiese will officiate. Alfred died on Friday, April 7, 2006, at Beverly Healthcare in Milbank. Family members are asked to meet in the church chapel by 10:00 a.m. Tuesday to attend services. The organist will be Roger Goosen and the Unison Choir will provide special music. Visitation will be at the Emanuel-Patterson Funeral Home in Milbank on Monday from 5-6:30 p.m. and in the church Tuesday one hour before services. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his relatives and friends. Active pallbearers will be Scott Nelson, Bill Leonard, Sam Leonard, Brad Leonard, Roger Abramowski, Dru Olson, Todd Upton, and Alan Upton. Burial will be in the Augusta Cemetery at Marietta, MN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Milbank Area Hospice/Avera Health or to the Emanuel Lutheran Church radio fund.
Alfred was born on August 2, 1921, in Adams Township, Grant County, South Dakota, the son of Louis and Henrietta (Shieve) Lausch. He was received into God's Kingdom of Grace through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at St. John's Lutheran Church at Revillo, SD. He was confirmed in his Christian faith on May 5, 1931, at St. John's Lutheran Church by Reverend George Walz. Alfred attended school in Albee, SD, and Revillo, SD. He was united in marriage to Laura Nelson on January 11, 1948, at Marietta, MN. The Reverend George Waite officiated at their wedding. Fritz farmed all of his life in the Revillo area. They moved to Milbank in Nov. 1988.
While living in the Revillo area, Alfred was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He joined Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank in 1995. Alfred was also a past member of the Last of the Fast Gun Club and the Sportsman Club. He was a great outdoorsman who loved hunting and his dogs, fishing, and trapping. He also enjoyed getting together with family.
Survivors include his wife Laura, Milbank; one sister, Mrs. Wanda Beninga, Marietta, MN; several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and seven great, great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Roger, one sister and brother-in-law, Clara and Walter Teschke, and another brother-in-law, Harry Beninga.
