Memorial services for Albert L. Kruse, age 76, of Milbank, and formerly of the Big Stone City, SD, area, will be held at a later time in Nebraska. Mr. Kruse died on Monday, August 9th, at the Golden Living Center in Milbank. Burial will be in the Scottville Cemetery near Lynch, NE.
The family requests that memorials in his memory be directed to the Lynch Public High School, P.O. Box 98, Lynch, NE 68746.
Albert was born on February 25, 1934, in Lynch, NE, to George and Leta (Coakley) Kruse.
He graduated from Lynch High School in 1951. Albert served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954-56. He graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as an electrical engineer. He worked for a military contractor company.
Albert lived in Owensboro, KY, Columbus, NE, and Norfolk, NE, before moving to the Big Stone City, SD, area in 1990.
He was a Shriner. Albert loved fishing and being at Big Stone Lake.
Survivors include five children: Ron and wife DeeAnn, Bellevue, NE; Steve and wife Rosalind, Ralston, NE; Tom and wife Tracy, Minnetonka, MN; Carol Kleine and husband Jim, Elwood, NE; and Brian and wife Christine, Keene, NH; nine grandchildren; and two sisters: Linda Srack, Kearney, NE, and Margaret Crawford, Douglas, WY.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Kruse, and his step-child, Valarie Bublitz.
