Wilmot, SD

Elaine Grace Porter, age 88, of Wilmot, SD passed away on March 2, 2019, at the Wilmot Care Center surrounded by family.  Per Elaine’s wishes, there will be no services.  A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Elaine Beilke was born December 12, 1930, to Norbert “Bert” and Erma (Seehafer) Beilke. She attended school in Corona, SD and was a 1948 graduate of Corona High School.  She was a very proud Corona Midget Cheerleader.

Elaine married Charles “Chuck” Porter on January 2, 1954.  Chuck and Elaine raised their five children in Wilmot, Groton, Milbank and Huron. Elaine enjoyed working at the school in Milbank and the hospital in Huron.  Elaine will be remembered for her strong work ethic, positive attitude, outgoing and caring personality and her ability to bloom where  planted.  She also loved to cook and bake.  Perhaps you enjoyed some of her peanut brittle, special K bars, caramel rolls or other goodies.

Elaine is survived by her children: Burt of Corona, SD;  Marty (Ramona) of Sauk Centre, MN; Rich (Judy) of Wilmot, SD; Carrie (Brett) Tschetter of Pierre, SD; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Merilys Brown of Wilmot, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Keith, infant granddaughter, Sealey; brother, Earl “Spindy” Beilke; and brother-in-law, Daniel Brown.
